Jacqueline (Jackie) Sampel, our administrative fiscal assistant, supports the Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) at UConn Health, administered by the Connecticut Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH). Jackie manages SLRP’s financial operations and provides knowledgeable and courteous customer service. Fluent in both Spanish and English, Jackie communicates and interacts effectively in diverse linguistic environments.

Jackie comes from a medical facility background most recently with UConn Health and fourteen years at Trinity Health of New England (Saint Francis Hospital) where she specialized in quality control, data integrity, birth registration, and served as a notary public. She also worked as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) for the elderly. In addition to her work in the healthcare industry, Jackie’s seven years in the banking industry strengthens the SLRP administrative team in its support of healthcare providers delivering patient care in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs).
